Branding, idents

 

 

This was my graded unit for college, I chose this project as it reflects where I would like to go and it was a challenge as it was unlike any brief I had been given up to this point.
I was asked to brand a TV channel who broadcast everything live. I had to do 3 five second idents each covering one of the main genres of TV that they broadcast(music, news, nature).

I feel bold colours like this are a lot more accepted than they would have been say ten years ago. I went with the analogue, home made feel as it is becoming popluar as technology has went beyond impressive I feel people enjoy the warmth in the nostalgia of the analogue look.
I took into consideration multi-platform social media and the probable coming of the 3D age.

SEVEN SEAS
Rebrand/packaging

 

 

This was a college project which asked us to choosed a product and not just rebrand it but have a motive for the image change.
I chose Seven seas cod liver oil. This is a product which over the years has went from much older consumers to middle aged. Here I wanted to respect the older part of the market whilst also extending the appeal to young professionals with its quirky stylized nautical look.

RAZOR
Magazine branding and layout

 

 

For this college project I was asked to create a magazine(named Razor) identity with a front cover, contents page and two double page spreads.
I decided that this is a free magazine aimed at aspiring designers, musicians and creatives in and around Glasgow. My main theme was CMYK(in the logo), retro culture(going with re-using in these harsh financial times) and for this particular issue movember.

PENGUIN
One hundred years of solitude

 

 

This is my booksleeve design for Gabriel Garcia Marquezs’ “One hundred years of Solitude”. This was a college brief which I took to an abstract level. With so much symbolism I felt such an approach suited this project.

WINTERS

This is a poster I designed for a Winters/Bear arms show. Winters tend to see themselves as a DIY band therefore I felt a low budget worn out look would suit this.
I was jokingly imitating a Trainspotting book cover in this design.

LITTER ARMY
Brand/event poster

 

 

This is a college project where I was asked to create a brand and call to arms for a community cleanup. The only certainty was that the name litter army had to be used.
I decided to aim this at families making it a dress up event where litter is a monster and everyone in monster disguises would hunt it down.
The logo is the monsters paw print but also reflects the mark we leave on our planet with either pollution or choosing to clean.

This is a shirt design for Burn Your Heroes, an Aberdeen based clothing company. I have worked with them a few times before and I always enjoy the shirts I am asked to do.

This is the type based shirt I done for Swallow your pride clothing. A lot of people are doing oversized type shirts nowadays, so I wanted to try something a bit different with this, nothing insane just enough to stand out! I think my love of OBEY and supreme is really obvious in this.

I was asked to do a one colour, zombie girl design for Swallow Your Pride, a new clothing line which should be up and running soon! I’m excited to see how this turns out printed.
